Installation and Configuration Process

WiseMind AI is currently an internal beta version, users need to apply and download and install it through the official website. Below are the detailed steps:

Visit the official website and apply for the beta
- Open your browser and go to https://wisemind-ai.com/The
- Click on the "Application for Internal Test" button on the homepage to jump to the application form (https://w7q6cydpxa.feishu.cn/share/base/form/shrcnE9B5M2QaGDgoiJyLSl5Bob).
- Fill in the basic information and submit, wait for approval.
- Once you have passed, go to the "Download Address" (https://www.wisemind-ai.com/en/download or GitHub page https://github.com/Chris8891/WiseMindAI) Download the installation package for Windows or Mac.
Installation of applications
- Once the download is complete, double-click the installer to run it.
- Windows user: Follow the prompts to complete the installation, you may need to allow "unknown source" applications.
- Mac usersIf you are prompted with "Cannot open", please go to "System Settings" > "Privacy & Security" > "Security" and click "Still want to open" to complete the installation. If you are prompted "Cannot open", go to "System Settings" > "Privacy & Security" > "Security" and click "Still open" to complete the installation.
- After successful installation, a WiseMind AI icon is generated on the desktop.
Initial configuration
- Open the app and go to the main screen.
- Click the "Settings" button in the lower left corner to enter "Model Settings".
- Configure the following keys:
  - Large Language Model API Key: Go to OpenAI, DeepSeek, or Smart Spectrum AI to request an API Key, and copy and paste it into the corresponding input box.
  - Embedding Key: Request the key in the supported embedded service and fill it in.
- Click "Save" to enable the AI function after the configuration is completed.
Importing documents
- Click the "Add" button in the main interface to support the following methods:
  - Drag and drop local files (e.g. PDF, Markdown) into the window.
  - Enter a web link or RSS feed.
  - Select the file from the file browser.
- After importing, the system automatically parses the content and displays it in the document list.

Main function operation flow

1. Generate document summaries

Select the target document in the document list and click the "AI Document Summary" button.
The system automatically analyzes the document and generates a concise summary (about 100-200 words).
Click on "Export Mind Map" to convert the summary into a graphical structure and save it in PNG or PDF format.

2. Create Smart Notes

Open the document and click on the "AI Smart Notes" function.
The system extracts key content to generate notes, and users can click "Smart Marking" to add labels (e.g., "Key Points", "To Review").
Click the "Rewrite" button, select a style (e.g. "Concise", "Academic") and adjust the content of the note.
After saving, the notes are automatically archived to the "Notes Management" module, which supports searching and editing.

3. AI Documentation Dialog

In the Document screen, click the "AI Document Dialog" button.
Enter a question (e.g. "What is the core idea of this paper?") , the system quickly answers based on the content of the document.
Continuous dialog is supported, allowing users to ask deeper questions to get more details.

4. Creating Smart Knowledge Cards

Select a paragraph in the document and click "Generate Knowledge Card".
The system condenses the content into a card format with user-adjustable headings, body text and styles.
Save to "Knowledge Card Library", support categorization by topic or export for sharing.

5. Immersion Translation

Open a document or web page and click the "Immersive Translation" button.
Select the target language (e.g. English to Chinese) and the system translates in real time and retains the original format.
Switch theme styles (e.g. light, dark) in the settings to optimize the reading experience.

6. Smart Poster Generation

In the document or note screen, click "Smart Poster Generation".
Enter a topic (e.g. "Project Summary") or select a content, and the system generates a poster with text and images.
Support 30+ templates to choose from, users can adjust colors, fonts, save as JPG or PNG.

7. Custom AI plug-ins

Go to "Plugin Management" and click "Create New Plugin".
Enter a description of the function (e.g. "Extract document keywords") and set the trigger method (e.g. right-click menu).
After saving, the new plugin can be used in the corresponding scene.

8. Intelligent AI Search

Select complex text and click "Smart AI Search".
The system automatically analyzes and returns relevant information without the need to manually open a browser.

Tips and Suggestions for Use

first experience: It is recommended to import 1-2 small documents (e.g. 5-10 page PDFs) to test the summary, notes, and cards features.
data backup: Due to local storage of data, it is recommended that important files be backed up to an external hard disk or to the cloud on a regular basis.
