GitHub has announced that its AI programming assistant, GitHub Copilot launched a free program that is now available to all users in Visual Studio Code. Users just need a GitHub account to get started, no credit card or subscription process required.
GitHub Copilot recently announced that it has made its online version freely available to all users, allowing them to use Copilot Chat features in their GitHub repositories.
However, the free version has usage limitations: up to 2,000 code completions and 50 conversations per month.
In addition, GitHub offers free access to Copilot for verified students, teachers, or maintainers of popular open source projects.
For other users, a subscription to GitHub Copilot Personal Edition costs $10 per month.
