Exhibition of 18 Application Cases of "Artificial Intelligence + Higher Education" Announced by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China

In order to deeply implement the strategic plan of the State on carrying out the "Artificial Intelligence +" action, actively promote the integration and development of higher education and artificial intelligence technology, and use intelligent technology to support the innovation of talent cultivation mode, the reform of teaching methodology, and the enhancement of educational governance capacity, the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education organized the first batch of "Artificial Intelligence + Higher Education" typical application scenarios to collect and validate cases. The Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education has organized the first batch of cases of typical application scenarios of "Artificial Intelligence + Higher Education" to seek, discover and promote representative and forward-looking cases of higher education practices that can have a positive impact on the application of AI technology.

The first cases were identified after declaration by universities and expert verification. The following were announced by the Ministry of Education18 "Artificial Intelligence + Higher Education"Typical examples of application scenarios.


 

Peking University Case

Peking University Dental Virtual Simulation Intelligence Laboratory is a multi-dimensional intelligent integrated virtual simulation training laboratory supported by virtual simulation technology and big data, and integrating intelligent IOT, intelligent management, intelligent learning and assessment.

The laboratory is divided into a lecture area, an online training area and a virtual simulation training area. Among them, the online training area can carry out online virtual simulation experimental teaching and automated assessment, and the virtual simulation training area can carry out multi-type virtual simulation training and assessment with force feedback.

 

Tsinghua University Case

Tsinghua University utilizes GLM4, a large model of hundreds of billions of parameters independently developed with independent intellectual property rights, as a platform and technical base to carry out pilot work for eight courses. Using the existing teaching data, open papers, catechism resources and other materials, on the basis of GLM4, the vertical domain models of different courses are formed through fine-tuning, and the exclusive AI teaching assistants are developed to realize the functions of example generation, automatic questioning, Q&A, arithmetic reasoning, and evaluation and guidance.

Case of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics

The case of "Artificial Intelligence-enabled Full-Course Interactive Online Teaching Platform" is based on artificial intelligence technologies such as generative big model and deep machine learning, which connects teachers' various teaching links online and offline, realizes the closed loop of the whole learning process of pre-course pre-study - in-course study - post-course review - and Q&A of the course, and digitally processes the recorded course resources with the 323 smart classrooms covered in the school as the basic pedestal.
Supported by the conditions of the whole-process online teaching platform, a 24/7 accompanying knowledge intelligent Q&A assistant has been developed to solve all the problems in the students' learning process in real time.

 

Beijing Institute of Technology Case

The case of "Knowledge Map-driven Intelligent Teaching System Construction and Application" covers "one core, four platforms, and N scenarios", and establishes a professional knowledge map construction and service system. Case of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications

The "Code" platform - utilizing advanced big model technology - injects the power of intelligence into programming education. The platform builds a new intelligent programming learning environment for teachers and students with the help of powerful big model technology. It not only enables teachers to teach programming knowledge more efficiently, but also allows students to understand the essence of programming through hands-on practice and interactive experience. Harbin Institute of Technology Case

With the help of AI technology, they have launched a program for teaching electrical and electronic labs. The project uses AI technology to provide learners with a more interactive and personalized way of learning, aiming to improve the teaching effectiveness of educators as well as the learning efficiency of students. From the creation of a remote online laboratory teaching platform to the introduction of an intelligent teaching assistant system to the production of a virtual digital human teacher, AI technology is accelerating its integration into the entire process of platform construction, teaching resource production, and laboratory teaching.

Students can do the pre-course study of "Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry" through the AI learning system, and according to the answers of the AI teaching assistants, students will have a clearer understanding of the key points and difficulties of the course they are studying. The case of Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University (NWAFSU) focuses on the practical part of the project, which is called "Crop Intelligent Production Practice". Crop production environment is complex and variable, and limited by agricultural time factors, agricultural information collection and processing, production decision-making and operation of the digital upgrade of intelligence faces many challenges. Aiming at the problems of inefficient monitoring of agricultural situation, experience-dependent decision-making and inefficient and ineffective operation of agricultural machinery in crop production, Northwest A&F University has set up a whole set of system centered on "Artificial Intelligence + Crop Production".

Specifically, the overall framework is based on the three modules of three-dimensional perception of agricultural information, digital design of farming systems and precise operation of farmland management, relying on intelligent perception equipment such as remote sensing systems and sensors of unmanned aircraft, computing and demonstration platforms such as big data processing, mining and visualization systems, as well as agricultural robots, agricultural drones and other intelligent operation equipment, to carry out intelligent crop production practice, and to cultivate students' practical abilities and innovative literacy in the areas of efficient collection of agricultural data, information mining and production decision-making, intelligent operation and so on.
